This week’s Meet a Mom spotlight shines on Maddy Ceruti, a Glastonbury mom of two and powerhouse realtor with more than $110 million in closed sales. Licensed in both Connecticut and Massachusetts, Maddy specializes in multifamily investments and single-family homes, and she’s passionate about helping people reach financial freedom through real estate.
Rooted in Connecticut
Maddy grew up in Simsbury, went to UConn, and later lived in West Hartford before settling in Glastonbury with her husband nine years ago. “You could say I’m pretty well-versed in CT living,” she jokes.
She’s now mom to two daughters, an almost three-year-old and a five-month-old. Life with both a toddler and a baby is a mix of sweet and chaotic. “Our newest daughter is really starting to light up, and it’s exciting to know all of the happy, chubby baby moments we have coming our way,” she says. “Our older daughter truly makes my heart explode, she is sassy and funny and so sweet to her core. But, my god, toddlers are no joke! Are we all just out here fighting for our lives?”
A Career with No Ceiling
Real estate runs in Maddy’s family, her mom is also a realtor, but she didn’t start there. After a few years in corporate and nonprofit work, she felt unfulfilled and decided to pursue her real estate license before having kids. The choice gave her the flexibility of being her own boss and the chance to build a career without limits.
Her business now spans both investment and residential clients. She loves helping first-time and seasoned investors uncover opportunities, calling real estate “an extremely powerful tool for financial freedom.” At the same time, she finds deep joy in guiding families through buying and selling homes, an experience that can be exciting but also stressful.
Her approach is rooted in empathy, honesty, and commitment. “I’d rather show someone 50 properties than have them settle for the wrong one,” she says. “This business can be very transactional, and I try to bring the humanity back into it.”
Balancing Mom Life
Real estate is famously a 24/7 business, and adding two kids into the mix makes balance tricky. Maddy admits it’s a constant learning process. She leans on time management, boundary setting, and plenty of grace for herself on the hard days. What grounds her most is knowing she’s modeling passion and hard work for her daughters.
Community Favorites
One of Maddy’s favorite parts of life in Greater Hartford is simply being here. “At least once a week when I’m driving home, I think, ‘I cannot believe I get to live and raise kids here,’” she shares. Her family enjoys weekend coffee and pastry outings, afternoons at local playgrounds, and seasonal New England traditions. With fall just around the corner, pumpkin and apple picking are on the calendar, along with cider donuts at every turn.
Words of Wisdom
Motherhood, Maddy says, is all about grace and community. She encourages other moms to set realistic priorities, lean on friends who are in the same season, and remember that “you’re doing enough, even on the impossible days.” And one more tip: don’t forget to write down the hilarious things your toddler says, those gems only get better with time.
Thank you, Maddy, for sharing your story with us and for the energy, passion, and commitment you bring to both your clients and your community.
